Hello friends.  Just thought I'd share a little of my background with you. 

I'm a native of California’s Bay Area.  In January of 1999 I moved, with my job, to Marlborough, Massachusetts (a suburb of Boston).  I thought it would be fun to give four seasons a try, and well, to be honest, I didn't know moving to New England in January was a really bad idea.  Twelve years later, in February of 2011 I moved again.  This time, older and wiser, I headed south during the winter to Greenville, South Carolina.  As a matter of fact, when I drove out of Massachusetts, it was literally a snow storm!  But, I headed out anyway, determined to leave all things winter behind.  

In Greenville I met my husband, Michael Cleveland.  Want to hear something interesting and maybe a little creepy?  I started writing Face Front long before I met my husband, but the character, Steven Montgomery seriously resembles him, with his dirty blonde hair and husky blue eyes.  I often joke that I must have known my husband, Michael, was coming.  But, if that were true, why did I make him a killer's target?  I told you it was interesting and perhaps a little creepy!

I'm blessed with a very large family and lots of wonderful friends. We love to laugh.  I credit them with the bits of humor you’ll find in my books.  I often create characters using friends and family as inspiration.  Gary and Betty are my real parents, and yes, they are really that funny.  Miranda and Detective Schwinn are named after a gal pal I've had since I was 14 years old.  Alcidia is my beautiful niece and her beau Diego is a co-worker that is like a son to me. 

​Although I like to write murder-mystery, I never want to leave my reader with a heavy heart.  So, the humor is to lighten things up a bit.  And, it may interest you to know, lots of those moments are true stories!
